{"id":213490,"date":"2015-10-30T06:00:42","date_gmt":"2015-10-29T20:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=213490"},"modified":"2015-10-30T06:00:42","modified_gmt":"2015-10-29T20:00:42","slug":"chaos-replaces-the-clinch-in-pxc-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chaos-replaces-the-clinch-in-pxc-50\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Chaos\u2019 replaces \u2018The Clinch\u2019 in PXC 50"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Josh \u201cChaos\u201d Duenas will be replacing Vince \u201cThe Clinch\u201d Masga in one of the undercard bouts in the Pacific Xtreme Combat 50 at the University of Guam Fieldhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Cousins Roman \u201cBoom\u201d (5-0) and Shane \u201cPikaboo\u201d Alvarez (10-2) will also be fighting alongside Duenas (4-5) in the Dec. 4 fight event that will also feature Frank \u2018The Crank\u201d Camacho (16-3) and Guam\u2019s Tyrone \u201cBones\u201d Jones (4-4) facing off for the vacant PXC lightweight belt.<\/p>\n<p>Yusuke Yachi of Japan (13-4) will be defending his PXC featherweight title against Australia\u2019s Alex Volkanovski (10-1) in the main event.<br \/>\nMasga (6-1) was supposed to face New Zealand\u2019s Kai Cara-France (10-5) in a flyweight bout, but the Saipan fighter suffered a concussion in his training camp against a Team Tiger Muay Thai member.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_213491\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-213491\" style=\"width: 222px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/pxcpix.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/pxcpix-222x300.jpg\" alt=\"Josh \u201cChaos\u201d Duenas will be battling New Zealand\u2019s Kai Cara-France  in a flyweight bout in the Pacific Xtreme Combat 50 that will be held at the University of Guam Fieldhouse on Dec. 4. (Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>TrenchTech promoter Cuki Alvarez assured CNMI fight fans that Masga is okay and remains healthy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe doctor just advised Vince to take a rest. That\u2019s why he will be out for three months. He\u2019s fine, he will just have to take a break,\u201d added Alvarez.<\/p>\n<p>Masga has won his last three fights\u2014two of which are in the PXC\u2014since losing the bantamweight strap to Ricky Camp of Guam (5-3) in Rites of Passage 16: Unleashed last April 11, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Duenas, a former Trench Warz flyweight champion, was stripped of the 125-lb belt as he did not make the weight in his scheduled fight against High Blood Pressure\u2019s Ernie Santos (2-1) of Guam in last year\u2019s Trench Warz 18: Rock &amp; Rumble.<\/p>\n<p>This will also be Duenas\u2019 first fight since losing via unanimous decision against Crisanto Pitpitunge (8-3) in PXC 44 also held last year in Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Roman Alvarez will be facing another New Zealand fighter in Mark Abelardo (11-3) of Team Quest Thailand in the bantamweight division.<\/p>\n<p>Roman remains undefeated after five bouts, the last of which was against Ernie Braca after the Filipino bet was disqualified as he kicked the former on the head while already lying on the ground in PXC 48 in June this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbelardo is one of the top 125-lb fighters and this would be my nephew Roman\u2019s toughest fight yet,\u201d said Cuki.<\/p>\n<p>Abelardo is also on a seven-fight winning streak since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Rodolfo Marques Diniz in the Australian Fighting Championship 7 on Dec. 14, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Shane, Cuki\u2019s son, hopes to bounce back from a technical knockout loss to Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Darren Uyenoyama (10-5) in PXC 45 a year ago when he goes up against Japanese pro Kentaro Watanabe (10-7).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWatanabe is a young and upcoming fighter from Japan. We don\u2019t know much about him but Shane is training really hard for this fight and he wants to bounce back big against his Japanese opponent,\u201d said the older Alvarez.<\/p>\n<p>Watanabe lost his last four fights after winning five straight from April 3, 2011 to Sept. 23, 2012.
