{"id":213581,"date":"2015-11-02T06:06:23","date_gmt":"2015-11-01T20:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=213581"},"modified":"2015-11-02T06:06:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-01T20:06:23","slug":"tom-liu-brings-gourmet-pizza-to-saipan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tom-liu-brings-gourmet-pizza-to-saipan\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom Liu brings \u2018gourmet pizza\u2019 to Saipan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monster Pizza Pub, once a fixture at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel &amp; Casino, held a soft opening last Friday, Oct. 30, introducing the people of Saipan to what its owner describes as \u201cgourmet pizza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Established originally at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel &amp; Casino in 2004, the restaurant eventually closed its doors on Tinian and has reopened at its Garapan location at the Alter City Group building where the former Coffee Room was located.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_213583\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-213583\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Monster-Pizza.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Monster-Pizza-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Guests dine during the soft opening of Monster Pizza Pub in Garapan on Oct. 30. (Daisy Demapan)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n\u201cWe do our pizzas a little differently. Our specialty is Hawaiian monster pizza. The big difference is that the sauce uses Thousand Island dressing. It\u2019s a little on the sweet side but our customers and the kids really enjoy it,\u201d said Monster Pizza Pub president Tom Liu.<\/p>\n<p>Liu said that the soft opening will last until Nov. 8, which he hopes will be the restaurant\u2019s grand opening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still waiting for the ABC license. So that\u2019ll be hopefully this coming week.
