Monster Pizza Pub, once a fixture at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, held a soft opening last Friday, Oct. 30, introducing the people of Saipan to what its owner describes as \u201cgourmet pizza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Established originally at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino in 2004, the restaurant eventually closed its doors on Tinian and has reopened at its Garapan location at the Alter City Group building where the former Coffee Room was located.

\n\u201cWe do our pizzas a little differently. Our specialty is Hawaiian monster pizza. The big difference is that the sauce uses Thousand Island dressing. It\u2019s a little on the sweet side but our customers and the kids really enjoy it,\u201d said Monster Pizza Pub president Tom Liu.<\/p>\n

Liu said that the soft opening will last until Nov. 8, which he hopes will be the restaurant\u2019s grand opening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are still waiting for the ABC license. So that\u2019ll be hopefully this coming week. After the grand opening, we\u2019ll open from 11am until 10pm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the restaurant is a pizza pub, \u201cwe want this place to be known as the gourmet pizza restaurant,\u201d Liu said.<\/p>\n

When asked why he opened Monster Pizza on Saipan he said, \u201cMany people on Saipan told me they really enjoyed the pizza when they visited Tinian and were hoping that one day we\u2019d open here and now it\u2019s here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pizza restaurant\u2019s menu currently features large, medium, small, and single size pizzas with customizable options and toppings such as lobster chunks, seafood, pepperoni, sausage, salami, jalapeno peppers, capers, olives, mushrooms, and extra cheese.<\/p>\n

It also offers side orders of garlic bread, calamari, spaghetti, and fried chicken.<\/p>\n

For members of the community who adhere to Islamic law, the restaurant also offers halal pizza options.<\/p>\n
