The Joeten Kiyu Public Library\u2019s 4th Annual \u201cTrunk or Treat\u201d last Saturday boasted a crowd that was more than double the number of previous years ,according to organizers. The crowd was so large that many parents later pulled out their kids and went trick-or-treating in other venues around the island.<\/p>\n

During the 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat, heavy rainfall prevented more trick-or-treaters from going to the event and moved participants toward the shelter of Marianas Business Plaza\u2019s parking area.

Long lines for candy marked this year\u2019s edition of the Joeten Kiyu Public Library\u2019s \u201cTrunk or Treat\u201d last Saturday in Susupe. (Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>
\nThis year, 22 trunk participants gave away free candy and treats to trick-or-treaters. One of the trunks featured The Hulk with a moveable fist. Others featured a large coffin, an inflatable purple spider, pirates, Dr. Seuss and even the gingerbread man. The most popular attraction, evident by its long line, was a Haunted House tent.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Move Marianas held obstacle courses behind the Children\u2019s Library with Power 99 providing a live broadcast of the event.<\/p>\n

Toward the end, many trick-or-treaters headed to the Paseo de Marianas for a photocall with Saipanda and the Kinpachi Restaurant crew.<\/p>\n

Others drove to the first of its kind drive-through trick or treat event held in San Antonio near the basketball court that provided another safe option for trick-or-treaters.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s participants in the Truck or Treat event included the Ayuda Network, AmeriCorps, Best Sunshine, Coca-Cola\/Foremost, Crisis Counseling Program, IT&E, JKPL Bookmobile, Let\u2019s Move Marianas, Lady Diann, Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort, MarPac Inc., Marianas Health, LLC, Motheread\/Fatheread, Family Violence, NMC 4H Club, Power 99, Saipan Fil\/Am Lions Club, TASA Group, USNS Henson, the Yapese Community, the Department of Public Safety, and the Saipan Southern High School JROTC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
