Rep. Edwin K. Propst (Ind-Saipan) is urging the community to take part in a cleanup of the Dandan area with other typhoon recovery relief groups this Saturday at 9am.<\/p>\n
The Dandan cleanup is set on Saturday with two shifts: from 9am to 12 pm and 1pm to 4pm. Volunteers are scheduled to meet at the Dandan ball ield. Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n
Propst\u2014a Precinct 1 lawmaker\u2014told Saipan Tribune that the Department of Public Works will be assisting with trucks and backhoes, and volunteers will be collecting tin, wood, and green waste.<\/p>\n
Propst said his office and the office of Rep. Roman Benavente will be involved in the cleanup.<\/p>\n
Other organizations that will take part in the cleanup include Americorps, United 4 Saipan, and CNMI C.A.R.E.<\/p>\n
CARE is focusing right now on debris cleanup, repair, and rebuilding of homes.<\/p>\n
CARE was formed in August and is composed of non-profit, private, faith-based and other organizations to address long-term recovery as well as unmet needs of the community.<\/p>\n
