(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<br \/>\nPacifica Insurance established a special category specifically for art pieces focused on post-Typhoon Soudelor holiday theme and it was won by Jonelle Gwenyth Toskas, a 15-year-old high school student of Mount Carmel School.<\/p>\n<p>All three winners received a cash prize and a set of art supplies.<\/p>\n<p>Students from various private and public schools participated in the contest.\u00a0 There were a total of 336 submissions: 166 entries for the 12-17 division, 165 for the 6-11 division, and five for the Soudelor-inspired category.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more grateful to all participating artists for making this year\u2019s art contest an overwhelmingly successful one,\u201d said Pacifica Insurance executive vice president Shirley Sablan. \u201cIt was not an easy task for our judges this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judging panel included Pena House\/Iridescent owner Michelle Lin Sablan, Marianas Variety publisher Laila Younis Boyer, Get Fit CNMI partnering owner and freelance photographer Jose Quan, and Northern Marianas Humanities Council board member Robert Hunter.<\/p>\n<p>Artists were asked to create an original art piece centered on the slogan \u201cRest assured it\u2019s Christmas\u201d and one focused on post-Typhoon Soudelor. Permitted mediums included water paint, oil-based paint, pastels, crayons, and pencils.
