KB Market bagged its second win in the masters division of the 2015 San Antonio Community Action Network Basketball League after a come-from-behind victory over CES Electronics, 94-86, last Monday night at the San Antonio court.<\/p>\n

KB Market trailed by as much as 11 points in the first half, 26-15, and was still behind by 9 in the third before it rallied midway in the penultimate quarter and played steady in the fourth to hand CES Electronics its fourth loss in as many matches.<\/p>\n

A 20-5 scoring run in the last six minutes and change of the third period helped KB Market turn a 55-46 deficit to a 66-60 advantage, entering the final canto. Ed Pangelinan led KB Market\u2019s recovery, scoring 6 points in that spurt, while Pete Camacho, Mike Umali, and Mel Puri added 4 markers apiece, and Boy Garcia made the 2 other points.<\/p>\n

CES Electronics was held to a field goal in the third-quarter meltdown off Ariel Abadilla\u2019s baseline jumper. The 3 other points were courtesy off Ferdie Tobias\u2019 free throws.<\/p>\n

CES Electronics went on to play catch-up in the fourth quarter and had a chance to regain the upper hand if not for its free throw woes and errant passes in the last two minutes of the match.<\/p>\n

The final two-minute mark of the game started with KB Market opening an 89-82 lead after Eli Rangamar canned a short jumper and later fed Pangelinan for a fastbreak layup. KB Market then failed to produce points in its next three or four possessions, while CES Electronics trooped to the foul line on three occasions, but went 2-for-6. Tobias had back-to-back split free throws, while Abadilla muffed both charities, leaving KB Market with an 89-84 advantage, down to the last 48 seconds of the match.<\/p>\n

A split from Rangamar made it a 6-point cushion and KB Market sealed the victory with Pangelinan and Umali breaking away for layups off CES Electronics\u2019 careless passing. Olan Tengco made an open layup in the closing seconds to peg the final score.<\/p>\n

Pangelinan paced KB Market with his 25 points, while Umali chipped in 17, and Camacho had 14 in his debut after missing the team\u2019s first two matches. Tobias led CES Electronics with his 24 markers.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ask Y U B remained on top of the open division standings (East Group) after outlasting the Sonics, 72-68.<\/p>\n

Ask Y U B now has a 5-1 record, two wins ahead of second-running MJD Enterprise (3-1).<\/p>\n

Ask Y U B squandered a double-digit spread in the fourth quarter, 57-45, but managed to keep its distance against the Sonics by making crucial free throws in the homestretch. Ask Y U B scored its last 7 markers from the foul line with Jethro Cruz nailing four, Djay Ong adding two, and Sydney Quan logging one.<\/p>\n

Cruz top-scored for Ask Y U B with his 23 points, while Ong and Quan chipped in 17 and 11, respectively. Melvin Cadiang had 22 for the Sonics, who saw their three-game winning run snap as the team dropped to a 3-2 record.<\/p>\n
