Matthew Smith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Development Authority adopted a resolution yesterday to honor their long-time legal counsel who recently passed away.<\/p>\n<p>In a meeting, board members passed Resolution 2015-006 expressing their appreciation to the late F. Matthew Smith.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution read: \u201cWhereas the late F. Matthew Smith served as the legal counsel to CDA for many years prior to his untimely passing on Aug. 1, 2015;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhereas the late F. Matthew Smith served the Commonwealth Development Authority with skill, passion, integrity and honor and with the utmost concern and benefit of Commonwealth Development Authority, and the people of the commonwealth;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd whereas the board of directors, management and staff of the Commonwealth Development Authority wish to express their appreciation to the late Matthew Smith for his support, dedication and commitment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board has determined to posthumously award and present the late Matthew Smith the Commonwealth Development Authority meritorious service award,\u201d the resolution, signed and approved by the board chair Diego Songao, and other board members said.<\/p>\n<p>Smith passed away of natural causes at age 49 in his residence on Capital Hill.<\/p>\n<p>He was the producer of Baptists at Our Barbecue, a 2004 comedy based on a 1996 novel by his brother, Robert Farrell Smith.<\/p>\n<p>The F. Mathew Smith Law Office is located in San Jose.
