Eloy S. Inos is recovering from a heart procedure he underwent in the U.S. mainland last Friday to follow up a similar operation last November 2014 in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s spokesman, Ivan Blanco, is asking for the community\u2019s thoughts and prayers for the governor\u2019s recovery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today, Gov. Inos underwent an endoscopic medical procedure as a follow up to his past surgery in the Philippines last year. He had delayed this procedure because of Typhoon Soudelor. We ask the community to join together in prayer for a successful procedure and for a speedy recovery. We will provide updates to the public soonest they become available,\u201d Blanco said in a statement Friday.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed yesterday, Blanco said more updates should be available today. He thanked the community for its prayers.<\/p>\n<p>Inos has diabetes and undergoes dialysis treatment at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. thrice a week.<\/p>\n<p>Last January, Inos was confined to the hospital due to symptoms of pneumonia.<\/p>\n<p>Inos\u2019 health was a talking point during the 2014 general elections and subsequent runoff, with his opponents saying the governor is not being totally upfront about his health condition.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after retuning from a routine checkup in the Philippines in early November last year, Inos disclosed that his medical leave to Manila was for a follow up to a bypass heart surgery he had in 2006.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
