The consultant hired by the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. to analyze bids for an integrated resource management plan has asked for more time to finalize its report and give recommendations.<\/p>\n
In an executive session last Friday, CUC board members spoke with Leidos Engineering LLC.<\/p>\n
According to CUC\u00a0board chair\u00a0Adelina Roberto, the firm asked for a one-month extension to give its recommendations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey don\u2019t have anything for us new other than what was the continuation from the last time,\u201d Roberto said.<\/p>\n
Leidos wasn\u2019t able to finish their presentation to the CUC board at their last meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey didn\u2019t finish their report. They just did a presentation they\u2019re continuing on from the last time,\u201d Roberto said.<\/p>\n
She added that Leidos is working on their final draft.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were supposed to give us the final draft today but it was not done,\u201d Roberto said.<\/p>\n
In August, Saipan Tribune reported that Leidos was down to five bids: \u201cRenewable 1\u201d which offers a range of solar generation, both with and without storage, with options for site control at specific feeders; \u201cRenewable 2\u201d which provides simple solar generation with 10-megawatt max capacity; \u201cThermal 1\u201d which has a project that involves diesel engines burning heavy fuel oil; \u201cThermal 2\u201d which has plans for diesel engines burning light fuel at 30 megawatt max capacity; and \u201cThermal 3\u201d which was described by Leidos as a project ranging from \u201cextending CUC\u2019s existing assets to new diesel engines burning light fuel.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
