He saw the dusk mask the horizon,
\nthe day slowly concealed by darkness;
\nhe was waiting for the dawn,
\nwhen the sun slowly peaks at the west.
\nThree days the dusk and dawn his clock,
\naching body stretched on a cold rough rock;
\nat night the crickets made some company,
\nsinging sweet song to ease his agony.
\nCracked lips, dry mouth, numb feet,
\nhe slowly closed his tired droopy eyes;
\ndusk comes again that dusk could not defeat
\nthe man who wants to see the dawn.
