Pacific Islands Club coasted to its third win in the open division of the 2015 San Antonio Community Action Network Basketball League after pounding Armatech, 92-50, last Monday night at the San Antonio court.<\/p>\n

PIC held Armatech scoreless in the first four minutes and change of the match to bag the easy victory and hand the latter its second loss in as many games in the West Group of the inaugural league.<\/p>\n

While Armatech was without a field goal for nearly five minutes in the opening frame, PIC got two early triples from shooter James Abuy and two point-blanked shots from Darwin Barbo and Devin Galloway for a 10-0 advantage. PIC never relinquished the upper hand from thereon although Armatech, which finally made it to the board at the 5:39 mark off Haejun Park\u2019s triple, managed to bring the deficit to single digits at halftime, 27-34, after falling behind by 14 at the end of the first period, 10-24.<\/p>\n

PIC regained the twin-digit spread in the third period, 66-40, with Abuy again on fire, drilling the team\u2019s first 8 points in the second half. The rest of his teammates joined the scoring spree, including PIC\u2019s second and third stringers to demolish Armatech.<\/p>\n

Abuy, who suits up for Armatech in the masters division, top-scored for PIC with his 15 points, while Mardix Eroch added 14 off the bench. Mike Espinosa was the third PIC player to hit double figures with his 10 markers, while seven of his teammates contribute at least 6 points apiece in the rout.<\/p>\n

Armatech had only one player tallying twin digits with big man Stephen Tolosa logging 14.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in another open division pairing last Saturday, Cholos also notched its third win after outclassing Ferrera Builders, 84-75.<\/p>\n

Cholos dominated Ferrera Builders right at the get-go and withstood the latter\u2019s rally in the final canto behind Jun Tabora\u2019s successive baskets for the 9-point winning margin.<\/p>\n

Tabora, who was held to two field goals in the first three periods, registered Cholos\u2019 last 8 points to thwart Ferrera\u2019s comeback bid.<\/p>\n
