Price Ekon Shoiter, a 68-year-old registered sex offender, was arrested again on Sunday for allegedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl in Dandan.<\/p>\n
Shoiter was taken to Superior Court yesterday on charges of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and offenses involving a minor victim. His bail was set at $50,000 cash. Preliminary hearing is on Nov. 27 at 9am.<\/p>\n
Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed as counsel for Shoiter.<\/p>\n
According to police detective Rhonda C. John, a police officer responded to a residence in Dandan on Sunday at 6:14pm after the Department of Public Safety received a call about a sexual abuse incident.<\/p>\n
John said the investigation showed that the girl was sleeping when Shoiter fondled her privates.<\/p>\n
The girl told a relative about what Shoiter did, but she was told not to report the incident to her father. The girl eventually told her father about what happened.<\/p>\n
