A new acting chief financial officer has been appointed for the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.<\/p>\n
The appointment of Eran Sheriff, Ph.D., was announced in a memorandum issued by CHCC chief executive officer Esther Muna on Nov. 23.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s actually hired as a finance officer but he\u2019s acting CFO now,\u201d Muna said in an interview.<\/p>\n
According to Muna, Sheriff started Monday.<\/p>\n
The memo said that Sheriff has \u201can extensive education and experience in finance that would be a tremendous and much needed asset to our organization\u201d and that he will be acting CFO \u201cuntil further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n
With regards to being a full CFO, Muna said, \u201cWe\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m hoping that he will stay for a long time. I think he\u2019s going to stay here for a long time,\u201d Muna said.<\/p>\n
The last CFO for CHCC was Jack Taitague who came onboard the hospital on June 2 last year. However, he resigned barely three months into the job.<\/p>\n
The hospital hasn\u2019t had a permanent CFO since Alvaro Santos resigned in 2012.<\/p>\n
Cora Ada, who held the acting position for over a year now, will be returning and focusing on her main responsibility as project coordinator for the Hospital and Public Preparedness Program.<\/p>\n
The memo thanked Ada for taking the helm as the acting and interim CFO and noting that she went out of her way, above and beyond her role and responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Frances Pangelinan, who also helped with the position, will be returning to the management of Accounts Payable and Federal Grant reporting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
