{"id":215595,"date":"2015-12-01T06:00:19","date_gmt":"2015-11-30T20:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=215595"},"modified":"2015-12-01T06:00:19","modified_gmt":"2015-11-30T20:00:19","slug":"garapan-now-has-24-hour-water-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/garapan-now-has-24-hour-water-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Garapan now has 24-hour water service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The whole of Garapan now has water supply round the clock.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Commonwealth Utilities Corp. executive director John Riegel said the village has had 24\/7 water supply since November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very happy about that,\u201d Riegel said. \u201cI think there was a pocket in the main part of Garapan like from the American Memorial Park to Garapan Street and the hotels that did actually have 24-hour water but the rest of it didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Next up for 24-hour water service are Airport Road in As Lito, Quartermaster Road to Monsignor Guerrero Road, 1300 block on Capital Hill, and the Tapuchao area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 1300 block on Capital Hill doesn\u2019t [have 24-hour water] but they will soon because we\u2019re finishing up the contract,\u201d Riegel said.<\/p>\n<p>Areas that still don\u2019t have 24-hour water service include Chinatown, Oleai Drive, Marpi, As Matuis, San Roque, Tanapag, Papago, and Laulau.<\/p>\n<p>Riegel said the challenge of getting 24-hour water service to these areas are the leaks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main challenge is that there are a lot of leaks in those areas and we\u2019re constantly fighting that,\u201d Riegel said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The whole of Garapan now has water supply round the clock.
