Kagman High returns to normal schedule<\/strong>
\nThis is to announce the return of the\u00a0regular schedule at Kagman High School. Beginning today, Dec. 2, classes will begin at 8:20am and end at 3:20pm.\u00a0 Thank you to all stakeholders\u00a0for your support as we made up the time lost after the typhoon.\u00a0 We would also like to thank all of the parents who made it to the PTSA\u00a0meeting in November and joined the committees so that we can make some things happen for our students in our community.\u00a0 Our next meeting is on Dec. 17 at 5pm in the Kagman elementary school cafeteria.\u00a0(PR)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

DPS sets sobriety checkpoints this weekend<\/strong>
\nThe Department of Public Safety\u2019s Traffic Section will be conducting sobriety checkpoint on Dec. 5 and 6, 2015.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Dec. 5, the first setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold, Garapan by Taro Sue Store, on the northbound lane, from 8pm to 9:15pm. The second setup will be on Beach Road, Chalan Kanoa, in front of Triple J Wholesale, on the northbound lane, from 10:30pm to 11:45pm.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Dec. 6, the first setup will be on Beach Road, Chalan Lau Lau, adjacent to the residence of the late Dr. Benusto Kaipat, on the southbound lane, from 6pm to 7:45pm. The second setup will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Dandan, by Joeten Commercial Building, from 8pm to 9:15pm.<\/p>\n

In addition, police will be conducting laser speed enforcement along various highways. (DPS)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Saipan chamber meeting today<\/strong>
\nThe Saipan Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly general membership meeting today, Dec. 2, at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort.\u00a0 Wednesday is also the Education Committee\u2019s Career Exploration Day so there will be lots of high school seniors in attendance.\u00a0 This month\u2019s speakers will be members from Saipan Young Professionals and Pacific Century Fellows. Speakers include Tyrell Pauling from Hyatt Regency Saipan and Vince Seman from Century Insurance Group. (SCC)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

BECQ Brigade to tackle COP beach<\/strong>
\nThe Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality\u2019s Cleanup Brigade will be picking up trash at Coral Ocean Point Beach on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, starting at 8am. If you would like to volunteer, meet the BECQ representatives on Saturday at the Coral Ocean Point Beach area\/parking lot at 8am. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.<\/p>\n

This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three 3 cleanups will receive a brigade T-shirt. Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517<\/strong>
\nASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dec. 2, from 10am to 11pm
\n\u2022 Dec. 3, from 2-11pm
\n\u2022 Dec. 4-5, from 2-9pm
\n\u2022 Dec. 6, from 2-10pm<\/p>\n

The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on Dec. 2, from 7pm to 11pm.<\/p>\n

The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated. (JRM)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
