(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>National Alamo Car Rental and the Jokers IT&amp;E Voyagers remain on top of their respective billiards leagues in the Budweiser and Saipan Billiards Association-organized 8-ball events held in different bars last week.<\/p>\n<p>Alamo edged the Jokers Homeboyz, 7-6, to hold a slim lead over their opponents in the Thursday leagues\u2019 six-team field. The former hiked their record to 32-20, one win ahead of the Homeboyz\u2019s 31-21 slate.<\/p>\n<p>The pairs of Boyet Sequioco and Rey Hermogenes and Manny Mariano and Rodel Dela Cruz swept each of their Partners 8-Ball matches against the Homeboyz tandems of Nolan Cultura and Cesar Sangalang, and Rick Elefante and George Lizardo.<\/p>\n<p>Hermogenes, Roman Rodriguez, Rodel Dela Cruz, and Mariano gave Alamo a quick 4-0 lead after scoring wins against Jeff Garcia, Elefante, Lizardo, and Sangalang, respectively, in Singles 8-Ball play.<\/p>\n<p>The Homeboyz bounced back in Partners 8-Ball and the three contests in the second set of Singles events to take a 5-4 lead entering the last four games of their Thursday match up against the Alamo.<\/p>\n<p>That was, however, short lived as team captain Sequioco and company won three of the last four matches to snatch the win.<\/p>\n<p>In other Thursday League contests, the Jokers WildBoyz and the Wild Bill\u2019s Wild Wild West completed similar 8-5 decision against the Wild Bill\u2019s Rack \u2018N\u2019 Roll and Jonny\u2019s Team SCS.<\/p>\n<p>In the Tuesday League, the Voyagers (39-26) enjoy a two-win edge over sister squad Destroyers (37-28) after an 8-5 win in their match up.<\/p>\n<p>The Jokers Docomo Hustlers are also close behind at 36-29 following a 7-6 decision over the Jonny\u2019s Titans (26-39), while the Jokers StraightBlackBall (29-36) also eked out a 7-6 win over the Jonny\u2019s Crazy 8 (28-37).<\/p>\n<p>Action continues tonight in the Tuesday League with the Destroyers facing the Crazy 8 and the Hustlers clashing with the Voyagers while the Titans host the StraightBlackBall.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, The Homeboyz will be visiting the Wild Wild West while the WildBoyz host Team SCS.
