The Commonwealth Development Authority will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in March and plans are being mapped out this early on how the agency will mark this milestone.<\/p>\n
During their last two board meetings, CDA has been discussing plans on how they will celebrate the occasion as well as educate the public on their various programs.<\/p>\n
In last Friday\u2019s meeting, loan manager Oscar Camacho shared with board members that they will do day events on Tinian and Rota, while a three-day celebration will be held on Saipan.<\/p>\n
Camacho said they are thinking of featuring their clients under the microloan program, State Small Business Credit Initiative, as well as feature a model borrower from CDA.<\/p>\n
An auction of CDA\u2019s foreclosed assets and properties is also being looked at.<\/p>\n
He added that they have been in talks with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce regarding a profit mastery program.<\/p>\n
During their meeting last month, board chair Diego Songao noted that the profit mastery program is a good idea to gain the interest of the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to make our CDA anniversary more interesting, and incorporating that activity into it would be more interesting,\u201d Songao said.<\/p>\n
Director Ignacio L. Perez noted that a budget of $20,000 was already approved for their anniversary project.<\/p>\n
CDA was established through Public Law 4-49 signed by Gov. Pedro Tenorio on May 31, 1985. Its functions are carried out by two divisions: the Development Banking Division and the Development Corporation Division.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
