Apatang as a member of the Civil Service Commission to represent Rota during a regular session on that island Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate confirmed Apatang\u2019s appointment nearly three months after Gov. Eloy S. Inos nominated her to the post in September.<\/p>\n<p>In his nomination letter, Inos stated that if Apatang\u2019s nomination is confirmed, she will serve a six-year term that will start on the date of her confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am confident that Ms. Apatang is qualified and will be an asset on the important commission,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the commission are CSC chair Herman \u201cHR\u201d Guerrero; Felicitas \u201cTee\u201d P. Abraham, vice chair from Saipan; Catalina Tebit, also from Saipan; Charles M. Calvo; and Arsene Borja, from Tinian. One Saipan seat remains vacant.<\/p>\n<p>Apatang earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology and associate degree in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix. She used to be the administrative officer and program coordinator at the Office on Aging on Rota as well as administrative assistant at the Office of the Mayor.<\/p>\n<p>The Civil Service Commission is composed of seven members appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate. Six members serve a term of six years, in such manner that the term of one member expires each year, and one member serving a term of four years expiring concurrently with the term of the governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate confirmed the appointment of Valeria Q.
