(Contributed Photos)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Division of Youth Services of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs coordinated the first \u201cChild Welfare Capacity Building Collaborative\u201d technical assistance session on Nov. 23, 2015. A total of 24 participants joined the call, including Rota and Tinian DYS personnel and three DYS interns from the Northern Marianas College.<\/p>\n<p>The CWCB technical assistance was made possible by the Children\u2019s Bureau under the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health &amp; Human Services.\u00a0 All states, territories and tribes receiving funds administered by the Children\u2019s Bureau are eligible for services from the Collaborative.\u00a0 Because the Collaborative is a five-year program, the DCCA-DYS will be involved in a series of technical assistance for the next four years.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the technical assistance is to build capacity within the child welfare agency, in this case DYS, to increase coordination, leverage resources and provide more strategic service provisions for clients served.\u00a0 This will include a series of calls and\/or visits for assessments\/information sharing, capacity building action plan and program implementation.
