Kennedy has granted the U.S. government\u2019s request to issue an entry of default against the $2.5 million that the owner of Tinian Dynasty Hotel &amp; Casino has agreed to pay as part of a $3.03-million settlement of a criminal case.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy issued the entry of default based on the U.S. government\u2019s request and the affidavit of assistant U.S. attorney Russell H. Lorfing, counsel for the U.S. government.<\/p>\n<p>Lorfing informed the court that no one contested the U.S. government\u2019s action to forfeit Tinian Dynasty\u2019s $2.5 million and that no one has appeared to defend on behalf of the $2.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments Ltd., owner of Tinian Dynasty, gave the $2.5 million to the U.S. government in the form of check last July 23 pursuant to their non-prosecutorial deal.<\/p>\n<p>The new owners of HKE and the U.S. government have agreed not to prosecute the criminal case against HKE in exchange for HKE\u2019s forfeiture of $3.03 million.<\/p>\n<p>The federal court dismissed the criminal charges against HKE last July at the U.S. government\u2019s request.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI clerk of court Heather L.
