As of Dec. 21, 2015, the Federal Emergency Management Agency approved an additional 10 applications for individual assistance from the 4,802 applicants two weeks ago, for a total of $24.5 million approved under the individual and households program, $16.9 million for housing assistance, and $7.5 million in other needs assistance such as furnishings, transportation, and medical needs.<\/p>\n
For public assistance, $12.5 million have been obligated or made available via electronic transfer, which is an additional $3.3 million from the previous weeks\u2019 $9.2 million obligated assistance.<\/p>\n
Although the Disaster Recovery Center closed last Friday, FEMA still remains just a phone call away.<\/p>\n
Typhoon Soudelor survivors who have registered with FEMA can call the toll free registration number to get help with the application process.<\/p>\n
