Concepcion, sales account executive for Delta Air Lines, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2015 Saipan Young Professional of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made at the SYP \u201cHafa Adai\u201d Christmas Party held on Dec. 12 at the Barefoot Bar of the Kanoa Resort Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to present the first Saipan Young Professional of the Year award recognizing Mr. Concepcion\u2019s outstanding leadership and dedication to serving the community both personally and professionally,\u201d said SYP chair Mable Ayuyu. \u201cMr. Concepcion has demonstrated his commitment to truly serving his community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Concepcion currently serves as a board member of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and the Saipan Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Saipan Young Professionals Committee, the Marianas Tourism Educational Council and the Marianas March Against Cancer Organizing Committee.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, Concepcion was chosen as a member of the Inaugural Class of the Pacific Century Fellows \u2013 Marianas Chapter. Within the same year, he was named in Guam Business Magazine\u2019s \u201c40 Under 40\u201d annual issue, featuring the top young professionals within the CNMI and Guam. He also actively participates in various volunteer efforts and programs with his employer, Delta Air Lines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe congratulate Chris Concepcion on this well-deserved award and thank him for the countless hours of service he commits each year to the community and particularly to our committee,\u201d said Ayuyu.<\/p>\n<p>The evening also honored other outstanding SYP members and a community leader. Jiana Camacho of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation received the distinguished \u201cSYP Volunteer of the Year Award\u201d for her consistent dedication to volunteering with organizations including the NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.<\/p>\n<p>Recipients for the SYP special awards include Glen Hunter of CNMI C.O.R.E., for the \u201cSYP Community Leader Award\u201d; Jeaniffer Cubangbang of the CNMI Public School System for the \u201cSYP Attendance Award\u201d; and Tyler Yoshimoto, recipient of the \u201cSYP Education Award.\u201d The Committee would like to recognize and thank the award nominees including John Hirsch of the American Red Cross and Emanuel Borja of Hofschneider Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to have an awards ceremony that allows us to highlight and recognize young and vibrant leaders today. This is a way for us to promote a more active network of young professionals to be proactive and to be involved in the growth and development of our islands,\u201d said Ayuyu.<\/p>\n<p>She encouraged young professionals on the island to consider joining the Saipan Young Professionals Committee as an avenue of growth and opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The SYP Christmas Party featured fun games, entertainment, raffle prize drawings and the announcement of the 2015 Saipan Young Professional Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee also teamed up with Karidat Social Services, donating toys for their Christmas toy drive.
