{"id":217848,"date":"2016-01-04T06:06:21","date_gmt":"2016-01-03T20:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=217848"},"modified":"2016-01-04T06:06:21","modified_gmt":"2016-01-03T20:06:21","slug":"docomo-unresponsive-cucs-inquiries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/docomo-unresponsive-cucs-inquiries\/","title":{"rendered":"Docomo unresponsive to CUC\u2019s inquiries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board of directors, Docomo has been unresponsive to CUC\u2019s letters to revisit their memorandum of understanding in terms of the maintenance of cable lines.<\/p>\n<p>Board member Joe Torres brought the issue to the table, with legal counsel James Sirok stating that he does not recall a response from Docomo to date.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said the board has already sent Docomo two letters but no response has been made.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we really should demand now for Docomo to come in and sit with us because as we can see, their lines affect our distribution system when it comes down to it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres noted that the contract has never been adjusted to address recent rate changes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I recall, the rental rate was never raised for the last 15 years. We have to revisit that as something to improve in our MOU agreement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sirok expressed that the MOU agreement is not an automatic renewal, but the current contract mirrored the last contract and Docomo has no responsibility for maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Torres lamented, \u201cI just want to make sure there\u2019s no issue of vegetation that reaches the secondary lines of distribution\u2026who is responsible for that?
