Bordallo today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services $1,057,767 in federal grant assistance. The grant was awarded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u2019s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases and will be used DPHSS\u2019s Immunization and Vaccines for Children Program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVaccinating children is crucial to protecting our children, as well as our entire community from fatal diseases and health conditions. This grant will help Guam Public Health provide free vaccinations to children who would otherwise not be vaccinated because of an inability to pay.
