(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Best Sunshine International, Ltd. majority shareholder Margaret Cui Lijie took part in the company\u2019s recent cleanup and tree-planting activity at the Dandan Homestead Children\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n<p>The activity is part of BSI\u2019s corporate social responsibility program through its \u201cVillage Pride Project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project, among others, encourages the continued protection of the environment and building community partnership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe beautiful islands of the CNMI have long ago captured my heart. I vividly recall how mesmerized I felt when I arrived here during my first visit many years ago,\u201d Cui recalled, as she expressed her deep gratitude to the people of the CNMI for their \u201cwarmth, care and kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cui is the majority stockholder of Imperial Pacific International, Best Sunshine\u2019s parent company, which has been awarded an exclusive resort developer license by the CNMI government in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Her participation in the \u201cVillage Pride Project\u201d mirrors the company\u2019s commitment to developing a $7.1-billion integrated resort on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been dreaming about one day developing a comprehensive, family-oriented luxury resort in a pristine natural environment, where we can satisfy the needs of our customers, who are among Asia\u2019s highest net worth individuals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Both economic watchers and CNMI leaders acknowledged that Best Sunshine\u2019s integrated resort investment is expected to usher economic revival, primarily upping the lagging tourism market.<\/p>\n<p>The five-phase development plan calls for over 4,000 rooms, 300 villas, a Chamorro and Carolinian cultural center, and the world\u2019s largest water park.<\/p>\n<p>This is going to be the largest and most expensive infrastructure development undertaking this side of the world\u2014 \u201ca dream project which all our children can inherit and enjoy for generations to come,\u201d Cui said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur specialists scoured many of the beautiful islands in the Pacific and Indian oceans. But when the opportunity arose to participate in the development of a grand signature project in Saipan, it was a euphoric moment for me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>It was through perseverance, grit, and hard work that she owes what she had achieved today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI fully understand that the economy of CNMI is at a critical stage. I sincerely hope that through my effort and with the support of the people, we can grow the economy with new investment, create ample job opportunities, improve the environment and raise the living standards for everyone,\u201d Cui said.<\/p>\n<p>She reaffirmed her commitment to \u201chigh business ethics, compliance, respect and preserving the environment and the local culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is now our turn to repay these blessings through this exciting opportunity to invest in your beautiful islands,\u201d added Cui. \u201cWe will strive to turn the CNMI into an envy of the world as a tourism destination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cui\u2019s love affair with the islands mirrors her beginnings. Hailing from Hong Kong, she grew up appreciating the simple things in life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur dear parents were loving and caring but firm at the same time.
