Sutherland<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>The Rollers Basketball Club is putting on its first-ever \u201cMini Rascal\u201d Youth Basketball Tournament starting at 5:30pm this Tuesday at the Garapan Basketball Court.<\/p>\n<p>The event is open to U10, U12, and U14 players.<\/p>\n<p>Currently there are three U10 teams, three U12 teams, and five U14 developmental squads expected to participate and organizers are still accepting walk-ins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited to offer this event, which has been long in the waiting,\u201d said RBC head coach Joe Diaz in a phone interview yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur group was given a portable adjustable basket last year and we recently were leant a second one to use for next week&#8217;s tournament, so we are looking forward to seeing what these little guys can do,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The goal heights will be lowered and the court size will be shrunk down a bit accordingly, per division.<\/p>\n<p>Half hour matches are scheduled to run throughout the night.<\/p>\n<p>Parent who want their kids to participate, but are not already on a team are requested to show up early.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers are also still looking for a main sponsor to help provide prizes for participating players.<\/p>\n<p>Contact RBC&#8217;s Diaz at 285-4141 for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Walter J.
