{"id":219732,"date":"2016-01-29T06:00:16","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T20:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=219732"},"modified":"2016-01-29T06:00:16","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T20:00:16","slug":"ninth-circuit-dismisses-ice-traffickers-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ninth-circuit-dismisses-ice-traffickers-appeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Ninth Circuit dismisses \u2018ice\u2019 trafficker\u2019s appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has dismissed an appeal of a man who was slapped by the federal court with a 30-month prison term for distributing methamphetamine or \u201cice.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>The Ninth Circuit judges said Bao Zhong Wang waived his right to appeal his conviction and sentence.<\/p>\n<p>The Ninth Circuit judge said their independent review of the record, discloses no arguable issue as to the validity of the waiver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe accordingly dismiss the appeal,\u201d said three Circuit judges in their order.<\/p>\n<p>Wang appealed, asking the Ninth Circuit to reverse his guilty-plea conviction and 30-month sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Wang\u2019s counsel has filed a brief stating that there are no grounds for relief, along with a motion to withdraw as counsel of record.<\/p>\n<p>Wang filed two pro se letters.
