In light of the announcement of Perry Tenorio\u2019s resignation as managing director of the Marianas Visitors Authority, Rep. Angel A. Demapan (R-Saipan) commends Tenorio for his two decades of service to the Commonwealth\u2019s tourism industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Tenorio has been a tremendous asset to the MVA and the CNMI as a whole,\u201d said Demapan. \u201cHe was significantly involved in the transformation of our tourism industry to what it has become today.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs vice chairman of the House Committee on Commerce and Tourism, I am saddened to see Mr. Tenorio leave MVA, but I am also deeply appreciative of his many years of committed public service,\u201d added Demapan. \u201cMr. Tenorio was also the first person from the Northern Marianas to be appointed to a national board when President Obama appointed him to serve on the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board under the U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary.\u201d<\/p>\n
Demapan hopes that the MVA board will be able to fill the void at MVA\u2019s helm swiftly with someone with just as much energy and vision to continue improving the CNMI\u2019s tourism industry.<\/p>\n
