When former senator Ramon \u201cKumoi\u201d Guerrero introduce his Senate bill and became CNMI Public Law 12-18, his intention was to fix all the \u201cflaws\u201d within our \u201celection laws\u201d to eliminate challenges due to the election results. On page 46, as stated on s\/s 6502 of our CNMI Constitution, PL12-18 is clear of its intent, that if the governor resigns, dies, or unable to perform his duties as head of state, then the \u201cActing Governor\u201d must call for a special election within 30 days. With all due respect to the elected Attorney General\u2019s opinion, as he based his findings on other states laws, in my opinion, the AG failed to follow our own CNMI Constitution as amended and signed into law on Sept. 14, 2000 by then governor Pedro P. Tenorio. As in any \u201claws\u201d in question only the CNMI Supreme Court must interpret the laws and will then issue their findings base on our CNMI Constitution. <\/p>\n
According to former senator Ramon \u201cKumoi\u201d Guerrero, The opinions of Mr. Frank Agulto on his letter to the editor written last week is right on the dot! For the record, as a former House member for the CNMI 17th Legislature, I too, agree with the findings of former senator Ramon \u201cKumoi\u201d Guerrero as stated on CNMI Public Law 12-18 and not on a personal basis but on issues that affects our Commonwealth. Let\u2019s stand together for what is right! Biba to all who call the CNMI their home, and biba for a better Commonwealth.<\/p>\n
