A man was slapped with a 10-day prison term for instigating a fight, while another man was sentenced to a 10-day imprisonment for beating his girlfriend. <\/p>\n
Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo sentenced Edwin S. Desin to six months imprisonment, all suspended except 10 days, for disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
Desin, 47, was ordered to start serving the prison term last Thursday. He shall be released from jail on Feb. 13.<\/p>\n
Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja sentenced Allan M. Nishimura to 30 days imprisonment, all suspended except for 10 days, for assault and battery (domestic violence).<\/p>\n
Nishimura was given credit for 10 days of time already served. It means that the defendant will not serve more time in prison.<\/p>\n
Desin and Nishimura are both placed on probation for one year following their release from prison.<\/p>\n
Desin was ordered to, among other conditions, pay $399.34 in restitution to the victim, Ricarte Dulcero Cainiela, for injuries\/damages resulting from the commission of this time.<\/p>\n
In Desin\u2019s case, according to the factual basis of the plea agreement, on Nov. 24, 2013, the defendant instigated a fight with Cainiela, causing several people to get involved and the police to get called.<\/p>\n
In Nishimura\u2019s case, according to the factual basis of the plea deal, on Dec. 26, 2015, the defendant caused bodily injury to his girlfriend after he slapped and choked her.<\/p>\n
