{"id":220644,"date":"2016-02-11T04:00:17","date_gmt":"2016-02-10T18:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=220644"},"modified":"2016-02-11T04:00:17","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T18:00:17","slug":"mc-fun-run-organizers-want-companies-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mc-fun-run-organizers-want-companies-support\/","title":{"rendered":"McFun Run organizers want companies\u2019 support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Organizers of the Rotary McFun Run is asking companies and employers to join the I\u2019m Lovin\u2019 It division of the second edition of the running event set on Feb. 20, which starts and ends at the Carolinian Utt across Bank of Guam in Garapan.<\/p>\n<p>The Rotary Club of Saipan is organizing the event with McDonald\u2019s as the main sponsor. They presented a $3,000 check to Rotary officials led by president Curtis Dancoe, vice president Brian Clayton, and president-elect Ivan Ilmov during the club\u2019s meeting last Tuesday at Giovanni\u2019s at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.<br \/>\nCompanies and employers are encouraged to field a minimum of 10 or a maximum of 15 of their personnel in the I\u2019m Lovin\u2019 It team division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a corporate division where we hope to get a lot of the companies involve. Our goal is to also get sponsors where he would pay the fee of the 10 participants,\u201d said Rotary director and former president Ben Babauta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe event will also help promote a healthy environment in the work place or with your family since it would sort of become a team building or bonding time for all,\u201d Babauta added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe challenge now is to get more participants. It would be nice to see a lot of people join the event. The more participants, the more fun it is for everyone,\u201d said McDonald\u2019s shift manager Joe Ayuyu Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Dancoe said that AK Toyota and SPD &amp; Associates have also committed to signing up to 10 members each.<\/p>\n<p>Registration forms are available at T-Galleria\u2019s security booth area, AK Toyota in San Jose and Megabyte in Gualo Rai. You could also register on race day at 5:30am and the race starts at 6:15am.<\/p>\n<p>The race is divided into 5 kilometer (from Carolinian Utt and turning around at Star Water) and 10K (Carolinian Utt turn around at Oleai Bar &amp; Grill) distances.<\/p>\n<p>Registration fees are $10 for students (Under-17) and $15 for adults, which include a T-shirt and refreshments. The top finishers will be receiving prizes as well.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds of the fundraising running event will go to Rotary\u2019s funds to support its community projects.
