Tinian Department of Public Safety director John Santos led police officers in the investigation of trafficking methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Tinian, resulting in the arrest of seven of eight suspects on Friday.<\/p>\n
Arrested were Michael Borja Evangelista, 29; Kyle San Nicolas Cepeda, 25; Vicente G. Adriano, 58; Antonio Adriano, 38; Jay Barcinas San Nicolas, 34; Christopher Boki Evangelista, 53; and Jose Anthony Sablan, 45.<\/p>\n
Jay San Nicolas is an employee of Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office, but assigned to Tinian Department of Public Works, Saipan Tribune learned.<\/p>\n
The eighth suspect was identified as Frank Mendiola, who was not served with an arrest warrant yet as of yesterday\u2019s bail hearing.<\/p>\n
Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed $50,000 cash bail each for all defendants, except Vicente Adriano.<\/p>\n
Kim-Tenorio imposed $100,000 cash bail on Vicente Adriano because he was allegedly involved in two \u201cice\u201d trafficking cases.<\/p>\n
Police detectives stated in their reports that their confidential informant disclosed that the eight suspects are actively selling \u201cice\u201d on Tinian.<\/p>\n
Police said during a controlled buy operation last Jan. 6, their informant managed to buy $50 worth of \u201cice\u201d from suspects Michael Evanglista, Cepeda, and Mendiola in front of Poker Club.<\/p>\n
Police said their informant twice purchased \u201cice\u201d worth $100 from Vicente Adriano at separate places last Jan. 26. <\/p>\n
The confidential informant allegedly bought $50 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Antonio Adriano last Jan. 24.<\/p>\n
The informant allegedly managed to buy $50 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Jay San Nicolas outside Cha Cha Poker last Feb. 4.<\/p>\n
Police said their informant purchased $50 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Christopher Evangelista last Feb. 1. Christopher Evangelista allegedly got the drugs from Vicente Adriano.<\/p>\n
Director Santos and a detective conducted drug tests on the purchased substance and stated that the results came out presumptive positive. <\/p>\n
Last November, Tinian DPS director Santos, Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas, and then-DPS commissioner James C.
