The board of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. renewed Gary Camacho\u2019s term as the acting executive director for the utilities company.<\/p>\n
Board chair Adelina Roberto said they extended Camacho\u2019s term to 60 more days effective Feb. 6.<\/p>\n
Camacho was given the position after Water and Waste Water Division chief engineer John Riegel\u2019s term as acting executive director ended in December.<\/p>\n
Riegel became acting after Alan Fletcher resigned from the position last June.<\/p>\n
According to Camacho, the position has been challenging.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a little bit challenging but like everything else there are adjustments that needed to be made,\u201d Camacho said.<\/p>\n
Asked if they currently have applicants, Roberto said they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re revisiting the application process,\u201d Roberto said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pursuing of course the [executive director] and the [deputy executive director]. We\u2019ll advertise that soon and hopefully we\u2019ll get someone qualified for it and get them on board,\u201d Camacho said.<\/p>\n
The two said positions are among the vacant senior management positions required under Stipulated Order No. 1.<\/p>\n
During last month\u2019s board meeting, Camacho reported to the board that they have chosen an individual for drinking water and wastewater division manager\u2014another SO1 position requirement.<\/p>\n
Another SO position which is the \u201cpetroleum and compliance manager,\u201d also known as technical manager for oil, was recently filled by CUC after Maximino Simian was hired for the position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
