Police arrested in San Antonio on Thursday a woman who allegedly entered a store in western Garapan and stole the cashier\u2019s cellphone last Valentine\u2019s Day. <\/p>\n
Police said a surveillance camera led to the identification of the suspect, 21-year-old Laraad Aldan Ramangmou.<\/p>\n
Police Detective Leopoldo Theodore M. Duenas Jr. disclosed in his report that it was veteran police detective Catherine Pangelinan who identified the suspect as Ramangmou through the surveillance\u2019s footage.<\/p>\n
Pangelinan is handling Ramangmou\u2019s other pending criminal cases.<\/p>\n
At a hearing on Friday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 cash bail on the defendant for theft. <\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for the defendant. Assistant attorney general Emily Cohen appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
Duenas said Ramangmou entered the Family Store in western Garapan last Feb. 14 at about 4pm and walked around the store.<\/p>\n
While the cashier was attending to other customers, Ramangmou allegedly picked up the cashier\u2019s Samsung M14 worth $400 from the cashier\u2019s counter then hid it in her pocket. The suspect then went outside and got into a car.<\/p>\n
In January 2015, Ramangmou was arrested for allegedly punching a woman for refusing to let her borrow her car and then drove the vehicle away from her apartment unit in Susupe. <\/p>\n
Ramangmou was caught after the alleged stolen vehicle\u2014a red 2014 Hyundai Elantra sedan\u2014that she was driving nearly caused an accident with other vehicles the following morning.<\/p>\n
