The Liberation Day Committee calls for village candidates, school representative, non-profit organization, and ethnic representative to join the competition.<\/p>\n<p>According to Royal Court chair Rose Ada-Hocog, the Liberation Day Committee will cover the cost for the gowns and the hair and makeup of the participants. In addition, \u201cthe contestants will be given 10 percent of their gross ticket sales. <\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office, Skywalker Communications Group, and the Liberation Day Committee encourage interested participants to pick up an application at the Saipan Mayor\u2019s office and submit them before the office closes at 4pm on March 12, 2016, or request for an electronic copy of the application via email. <\/p>\n<p>In other news, Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang announced last Monday that \u201cOur Islands, Our Heritage\u201d by Daisy Demapan is the winning theme for this year\u2019s event, thus setting the theme for the 71st anniversary and commemoration of the release of the people living on Saipan from Camp Susupe and Camp Chalan Kanoa and wrapping up the kick-off phase for the upcoming, much anticipated summer festivities.<\/p>\n<p>The winning theme will direct the planning and organizing of the Liberation festival activities to include the recruitment strategy for the 2016 Miss CNMI Liberation contestants.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn line with the winning theme, we are reintroducing the Village Candidate Campaign as practiced in the past,\u201d said Ada-Hocog. <\/p>\n<p>In the village candidate aspect, members of each village are encouraged to nominate candidate(s) and endorse them as representative for their village community. The Village Candidate Campaign will be in addition to the school representative, non-profit organization, and ethnic representative campaign, a strategy based on the 2015-2016 theme, \u201cPeace In Diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The village candidate campaign is not exclusive to the island of Saipan. The Liberation Day Committee and the Royal Court Subcommittee are reaching out to all the municipalities in the CNMI. Candidates from some of the villages on Saipan have submitted applications.
