A Crime Stoppers\u2019 tip led to the arrest on Wednesday night in Koblerville of a 32-year-old man who allegedly sexually abused two minor girls then fled to Guam. <\/p>\n
Sidney A. Aldan was arrested for sexual assault in the first degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $30,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for March 14 at 9am.<\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Matthew Meyer was appointed as counsel for Aldan. Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
Police Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that on Wednesday, Police Officer Jason Tarkong informed her of a Crime Stoppers\u2019 tip about sexual abuse of minor involving multiple victims.<\/p>\n
Pangelinan said with the assistance of Division of Youth Services, they conducted separate interviews with the two minor girls that same day.<\/p>\n
Pangelinan said according to one girl, Aldan has been sexually abusing her since she was in first grade and that the last incident was when she was in fourth grade.<\/p>\n
The detective said according to the second girl, Aldan touched her private parts thrice. <\/p>\n
The second girl claimed that the first victim once wrote a letter to her, saying Aldan touched her private parts.<\/p>\n
The second girl said her mother found the letter and confronted her if Aldan was also sexually abusing her.<\/p>\n
The second girl said she cried and told her mother the truth.<\/p>\n
She said her mother then talked with Aldan and then called the police.<\/p>\n
She said Aldan, however, then fled to Guam.<\/p>\n
The second girl said that last year Aldan came back from Guam.<\/p>\n
She said Aldan apologized to her and asked forgiveness for what he had done a couple of years ago. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
