Chinese investors laid out concepts and investment plans for a \u201cSaipan International Health Resort\u201d eyed on beach and coastline property to members of the Senate on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Led by Eugene Wu, chairman of Conifer Hotels and Resorts, the group of investors presented preliminary plans for a \u201cfirst class health\u201d resort comparable to other resorts of the kind around the world.<\/p>\n
According to their presentation file shared with lawmakers Tuesday, the investors pointed to the \u201cTown of French Evian,\u201d located alongside a lake in France facing Switzerland across the lake, that touted spa centers, lake side tourism and holiday areas, among others.<\/p>\n
Investors also pointed to the Tucson Valley Farm in the U.S. that boasted world popular spas, health and fitness facilities and restaurants, among others.<\/p>\n
They also pointed to Mt. Peacock Health Resort Park in Hainan, China that provided \u201cleisure vacation\u201d and a design concept of \u201charmony between man and nature\u201d replete with physical therapy, fitness, spa, and organic food services.<\/p>\n
According to the presentation file, investors plan a project covering a total of 10,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 10,0000 to 15,000 square meters.<\/p>\n
Estimated total investment runs up to $200 million to $300 million, and project development cycle is about five years, the file said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSaipan [with its tropical climate] is a paradise for leisure travel,\u201d the document stated. \u201cSaipan has the opportunity to become a world-class health resort over others.\u201d<\/p>\n
