Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Support to the 13th Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament keeps on coming with McDonald\u2019s joining the list of sponsors of the April 30 competition.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s donated $5,000 cash for the tournament that will take place at the LaoLao Bay Golf &amp; Resort. McDonald\u2019s shift manager Joe Ayuyu Jr. handed the ceremonial check to NMC Foundation board member Mary Tenorio during a brief ceremony yesterday at McDonald\u2019s Middle Road.  NMC Foundation chair Mabel Ayuyu and director James Glenn were also present at the donation turnover ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very thankful to McDonald\u2019s for stepping up and supporting this year\u2019s tournament, which is very special because the college is celebrating its 35th year of providing quality education in the CNMI. The donation just goes to show that they care about education,\u201d  Mabel Ayuyu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe they been donating to the foundation golf tournament just for the past few years, so we\u2019re hoping that they will do this annually,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Joe Ayuyu Jr. said they want to invest in education and support any event that promotes it to help shape the future of the young generation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re just a big supporter of education. Education is where the future is. We want to support those who help educate our CNMI youth. Also, were are doing this to give back to the community, which has been very good to our business, patronizing our products. It\u2019s our responsibility to give back to the community and work hand in hand with them,\u201d Joe Ayuyu Jr. explained.<\/p>\n<p>The donation from McDonald\u2019s is the first and biggest cash the tournament received, according to James. To date, they have about $20,000 ETC donation and $10,000 from 25 to 30 donors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited for next month\u2019s tournament as more sponsors are coming in to support this worthy cause. We are very thankful to McDonald\u2019s , which gave us the first cash donation, and other supporters of the foundation and the golf tournament,\u201d James said.<\/p>\n<p>TSL Foundation and Express Financial were the other companies\/groups that have made early donations for the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the proceeds from the tournament will be used to repair or construct facilities at the NMC campus that sustained  damage from Typhoon Soudelor last year.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s NMC Foundation Open golf competition will have six flights: Championship, A, B, C, Seniors, and Ladies. Entrance fee is only $100. So far, 60 have registered and James said they are looking to have a minimum of 90 players.<\/p>\n<p>To register or donate and for more information, contact NMC at 237-6780 or email Glenn at james.glenn@marianas.edu.
