{"id":224167,"date":"2016-03-29T06:00:44","date_gmt":"2016-03-28T20:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=224167"},"modified":"2016-03-29T06:00:44","modified_gmt":"2016-03-28T20:00:44","slug":"perez-jambor-lead-golden-boot-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/perez-jambor-lead-golden-boot-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Perez, Jambor lead Golden Boot race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tan Holdings\u2019 Sean Perez and Martin Jambor are tied for the lead in the Golden Boot race in Division 1 of the 2016 M-League.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of Week 7 games, the two Tan Holdings players collected six goals each to pace Paire\/Inter Godfather\u2019s Ajani Burrel (5) and Chris Nelson (4), Korean Football Association\u2019s Brian Lee (4), Paire\/Inter\u2019s Yogesh Singh (3), and MP United\u2019s Sun Bae Park (3).<\/p>\n<p>Burrel joined Nelson at the No.2 spot after scoring Paire\/Inter\u2019s lone goal in their 1-1 draw against MP United in one of the five matches played in Week 7 (March 20). The league did not play last weekend in observance of Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Lee added three to make it to the leaderboard as his hat-trick powered KFAS to a 5-2 win against Matansa, while Perez and Jambor\u2019s Tan Holdings had a bye in Wee 7.<\/p>\n<p>With Burrel earning another goal and helping Paire\/Inter forced a draw against MP United, his squad moved on top of the team standings with its 3-1-1 win-draw-loss record and 10 points. KFAS is at second place with its 3-0-1 slate, followed by MP United (2-2-1), Tan Holdings (2-1-1), and Matansa (0-0-6). Paire\/Inter also has the most goals so far with 20, while KFAS and Tan Holdings have 12 each. MP United and Matansa have 11 and four, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Division 2, Sun Palace (4-1-1) gathered the most goals in six games with 16\u2014seven of them came from Golden Boot frontrunner Sang Ho Choi. Choi is ahead of Shirley\u2019s\u2019 Kazuaki Togo (6), World Resort\u2019s Daniel Agulto (4), Thundercats\u2019 Juan Peter Oh (4), fellow Sun Palace player Jun Sik Kim (4), CNMI Women\u2019s National Team\u2019s Jeralyn Castillo (3) and Kanoa\u2019s Jae Kwang Oh (3).<\/p>\n<p>Togo registered one goal in their 2-1 victory against Kanoa in Week 7, while Kim\u2019s lone goal lifted Sun Palace to a close win against World Resort. Oh also scored in Week 7 for the Thundercats\u2019 1-1 draw against WNT.<\/p>\n<p>With Togo leading Shirley\u2019s to victory, his team kept the top spot as the division leader improved to a 5-0-2 record. Sun Palace is in second place with its 4-1-1 card, while World Resort is ranked third with its 3-1-3 slate. The Thundercats (2-2-3), Kanoa (2-1-3), and WNT (1-1-5) are in fourth to sixth place.<\/p>\n<p>Action in the Men\u2019s League will resume this weekend at the Oleai Sports Complex with Kanoa facing the Thundercats on Saturday at 4:30pm.
