The deadline to submit to MVA offices on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota offices is 5pm on Monday, April 11.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the contest is, \u201cHow Can I Support the Tourism Industry?\u201d All entries must be typed and include: student name, teacher name, school, and grade level. In additional, maximum essay lengths are 300 words for Grades 3-6, 500 words for grades 7-9, and 600 words for grades 10-12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTourism is everybody\u2019s business, and we\u2019re looking forward to hearing much our young people know about the industry and how they feel they can contribute to it,\u201d said MVA acting managing director Judy Torres. \u201cThe MVA and Marianas Tourism Education Council visit the schools every year to educate students on the industry, so we are looking forward to some well-informed thoughts from our next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winners will be announced at the Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival on May 7, 2016 (winners\u2019 schools will also be notified). Also, the following cash prizes will be awarded:<\/p>\n<p><strong>CATEGORY I: Grades 3 -6<\/strong><br \/>\nPrizes: $50 (1st place), $30 (2nd place), $20 (3rd place)<\/p>\n<p><strong>CATEGORY II: Grades 7-9<\/strong><br \/>\nPrizes: $50 (1st place), $30 (2nd place), $20 (3rd place)<\/p>\n<p><strong>CATEGORY III: Grades 10-12<\/strong><br \/>\nPrizes: $75 (1st place), $60 (2nd place), $50 (3rd place)<\/p>\n<p>By entering, contestants and their guardians agree to allow MVA to use their name, image, and essay for promotional purposes.
