(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Best Sunshine International, Ltd.\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility team took part in the 35th annual Northern Marianas College Charter Day, a two-day event that celebrated the success of higher education in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>During the celebration, college officials also honored about 70 several college, government and private sector leaders for their continued support. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres, Imperial Pacific International-Best Sunshine International majority shareholder Margaret Cui Lijie, Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, and several lawmakers and private sector leaders were honored for their contributions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CSR group did so many things that NMC couldn\u2019t have done by themselves. They helped clean out our destroyed typhoon buildings. They helped clean our grounds. They actually built us a nice study area for the students, temporary, but a nice gesture,\u201d NMC acting president David Attao said.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the successful 35th Charter Day event, BSI\u2019s CSR team will sponsor and volunteer at the NMC Foundation Golf Tournament, which will take place on April 30 at the Laolao Bay Golf &amp; Resort.  <\/p>\n<p>Attao disclosed that the college is now working with BSI for future projects, among others, training programs and classes in partnership with the largest private sector employer in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to work with BSI for more projects in the future. Some things to look forward to are the training programs and classes that BSI will be providing here at NMC,\u201d Attao noted. \u201cWe continue to appreciate them and their support of our community especially our students and the college as a whole.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>During the two-day NMC event held over-the-weekend, BSI\u2019s CSR team donated resources, manpower, and volunteers to assist NMC to create a fun and successful event for the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBSI has been helping us since the planning stages of this year\u2019s charter day. We\u2019ve had three representatives that have been attending the meetings and providing input. Thank you very much, BSI,\u201d according to NMC Charter Day committee member Cassy Deleon Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>According to BSI CSR director Rita Chong, CSR and NMC\u2019s partnership was created to bring the Village Pride Project to the college\u2019s Saipan campus. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe assisted with logistics such as the preparation of the stage decorations, as well as providing the banner that served as the backdrop of the stage,\u201d Chong noted, as she discussed BSI-CSR\u2019s volunteer work that led to the overall successful staging of the 35th NMC Charter Day.<\/p>\n<p>CSR coordinator Chandis Cooper, also known as radio personality Big Mama, served as the event emcee for both days. The event kicked off around 3:30pm with remarks from David Attao and opening prayer from Fr. James Balajadia. <\/p>\n<p>BSI\u2019s participation during this year\u2019s Charter Day went beyond just preparing and volunteering at the event.  BSI\u2019s CSR department was also among those who set up booths. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCSR had a booth providing carnival games for kids. We were also able to recruit BSI volunteers.\u201d Chong added.  <\/p>\n<p>Program chair and NMC librarian Greg Sablan, commended BSI for their contributions: \u201cI\u2019m glad that BSI helped us. Everything that they\u2019ve done for us really shows their commitment to community work. They\u2019ve helped us with so many preparations for Charter Day. On behalf of the Charter Day committee, thank you so much for all your help.
