My dad worked for Pacific Micronesian Lines and my mom was a schoolteacher at Chalan Kanoa Elementary. I attended Hopwood High in the 10th and 12th grades (was with my grandma in Oklahoma for the 11th). I’m wondering if Hopwood High (I believe the high school has a new name and location now) Class of ’66 is having a 50th Annual Reunion this spring or summer. We were the second graduating class; there were around 60 some of us … Rosie Mendola, Joaquin Villagomez, Joaquin Villenueva, Evelyn Reyes, Connie Olapai, Oscar Rasa, and many, many other friends.

Are you aware of any plans being made for a 50th reunion? I could not find any information online, and thought the newspaper might know.

I currently live in Liberty, Texas, and am moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the first of May. If the Class of 1966 is having a reunion, I would love to attend. Any news of my classmates and the Class of ’66 anyone may have is much appreciated.

Jim Kerr
Liberty, Texas

I lived on Saipan in the ’60s and graduated from Hopwood School in 1966.
