{"id":225491,"date":"2016-04-15T06:00:06","date_gmt":"2016-04-14T20:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=225491"},"modified":"2016-04-15T06:00:06","modified_gmt":"2016-04-14T20:00:06","slug":"amp-youth-conservation-corps-internships-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/amp-youth-conservation-corps-internships-available\/","title":{"rendered":"AMP: Youth Conservation Corps internships available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This summer, American Memorial Park will once again host the Youth Conservation Corps  program and will be accepting applications through May 6, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The Youth Conservation Corps is a well-balanced work-learn-earn program that develops an understanding and appreciation in participating youth of the nation\u2019s environment and heritage. YCC participants will engage in a wide variety of conservation and park operations activities that will teach them about the American Memorial Park and the National Park Service\u2019s mission to protect special places for all.<\/p>\n<p>The park will hire between two and four youth in the YCC program at the federal minimum wage. The program will run for up to eight weeks, with participants working up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The program will begin on June 13, 2016 and go through August 6, 2016. Enrollees must be at least 15 years of age by June 13, 2016 and no older than 18 on Aug. 6, 2016. To apply, applicants must fill out an application and if not 18 years of age, have a parent\u2019s or guardian\u2019s signature. You will only be contacted if you (or your child) have been selected and program participants will be selected at random and participation will be dependent on funding being available.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be picked up Monday through Friday, from 9am through 4pm, at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center in Garapan, Saipan<\/p>\n<p>For park directions, call (670) 234-7207, extension 2021.
