Blas, Jr. is pleased that his resolution to assist veterans seeking medical attention off island has be placed on the agenda for discussion during this week\u2019s Legislative Session.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Rory Respicio made a motion this morning to place Resolution No. 302-33(COR) in the Second Reading file. The motion was unanimously approved.<\/p>\n<p>Blas authored Guam Legislative Resolution No. 302-33(COR), \u201cRelative to encouraging the United States Congress to introduce and adopt legislation that would increase compensation for Veterans residing on Guam and other geographically-challenged areas in the Pacific for costs associated with obtaining treatment that is routinely available for all other U.S. Veterans.\u201d The resolution encourages the United States Congress to introduce and adopt legislation that would increase compensation for veterans residing on Guam and other geographically-challenged areas in the Pacific to help address the challenges in traveling to access health services provided or approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The bi-partisan measure was cosponsored by Senators V. Anthony Ada, Thomas C. Ada and Frank Blas Aguon Jr.<\/p>\n<p>A public hearing on the resolution was held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 5:30 pm in the Legislature\u2019s Public Hearing Room.
