The latest donor the charity is thanking is Aloha for Saipan crew, which successfully rounded up donations from Hawaii residents and companies and brought them to Saipan.

“We are grateful to all of you for your generosity in assisting the Saipan community during the Soudelor disaster in 2015. Special thank you to L.J. Duenas who took the lead in organizing two 40-foot containers with relief goods,” said Empty Vessel founder and director Rose Smith.

Aloha for Saipan was able to gather donations for its Typhoon Soudelor donation drive from the state’s military volunteers, Sen. Glenn Wakai, Matson, Mufi Hannemann, the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, New Hope Aloha Congregation, Merv Lam and Safeway Pali, Pacific Transfer, Toys R Us, Pomakai Trucking, Friends of Hawaii Library, and The People of Hawaii.

Smith said the relief goods Empty Vessel received were made up of clothing, shoes, beddings, medical equipment and supplies, water food, futons, and books for the Joeten Kiyu Public Library.

“These donations enabled EVM to help more than 6,000 individuals and we are continuing to give away donated items that are still in stock,” she added.

“Thank you Aloha for Saipan and your supporters, from the bottom of EVM’s hearts. We are touched by your kindheartedness, your show of humanity, and your love and care for the Saipan community. Thank you for putting smiles on the faces of those who were affected from Soudelor’s devastation. You brought them relief during this recovery time through your donations. Many people had lost their bedding and you provided comfort to them. They were in desperate need of water, and you gave that most basic of needs. More than 300 linen and medical equipment and supplies were donated to the hospital. Thank you!” said Smith. (PR)

Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation is again extending its gratitude to its generous donors.
