{"id":2264,"date":"2012-02-07T02:39:36","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T02:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=2264"},"modified":"2012-02-07T02:39:36","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T02:39:36","slug":"rotary-to-give-away-dictionaries-to-3rd-graders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rotary-to-give-away-dictionaries-to-3rd-graders\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotary to give away dictionaries to 3rd graders"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Clarissa David<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>About 800 third graders from public schools on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will each be having their own dictionaries, thanks to the Rotary Club of Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Vocational Service director Kelley Butcher said via email that they bought over a thousand Webster&#8217;s Paperback Dictionaries for the third grade students of the Public School System.<\/p>\n<p>Butcher said that the Rotary&#8217;s dictionary project this year is made possible with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Northern Guam in conjunction with the \u201cSoCal Dictionary Project\u201d from the Rotary Club of Pacific Basin out of San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>Delta Air Lines also donated funding from their annual golf fundraiser and helped ship the dictionaries.<\/p>\n<p>Butcher, who is also the legal counsel for PSS, said the project costs $1,519.80, which covers both the dictionaries and labels.<\/p>\n<p>Rotarians affixed the labels, which included the Rotary 4-way test and the Delta Air Lines logo, during their \u201clabeling party\u201d held at the Hard Rock Caf\u00e9.
