He will be posted in Kolonia, Pohnpei and reports directly to BOG president and chief executive officer Lourdes Leon Guerrero.

“I want to underscore the importance of our business relations and long-term commitment with the three Freely Associated States of Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau by placing a senior official representative of the bank directly in our neighboring islands. I am therefore delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Asteiro Takesy as vice president of Governmental Affairs, who is well known and respected throughout the three countries,” said Leon Guerrero.

“Bank of Guam will continue to be a development partner and good citizen of the community it finds itself in these changing and challenging times made worse by climate change,” she added.

Takesy, who hails from Onoun Island in Chuuk State, has served in various senior posts of his country, FSM, having just completed four years in Washington, D.C. as FSM’s ambassador to the United States.
