Hart assured yesterday that the departure of accreditation liaison officer Galvin Deleon Guerrero will not hamper the ongoing work to reaffirm the college&#8217;s accreditation.<\/div>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero, who is also NMC&#8217;s director for institutional effectiveness, quit his job following his appointment new president of Mount Carmel School.<\/p>\n<p>Hart promised a smooth transition and assured that NMC&#8217;s main goal remains to achieve reaffirmation of its accreditation status with the Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn leading NMC&#8217;s accreditation reaffirmation efforts, Galvin has been highly effective in managing and strengthening the college&#8217;s institutional-level assessment activities. With his assistance and leadership, we have made tremendous progress in meeting accreditation eligibility requirements and standards,\u201d said Hart.<\/p>\n<p>She emphasized that this progress and growth will continue after Deleon Guerrero leaves and that accreditation efforts will remain a top priority at the college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGalvin remains committed to assisting in the preparation of the college&#8217;s Self Evaluation Report that is due to the accrediting commission in August,\u201d Hart added.<\/p>\n<p>Hart pointed out that the institution has already covered much ground in the preparation of the self-evaluation report as the college&#8217;s Accreditation Reaffirmation Team and Accreditation Standard Teams continue to meet weekly to work on and finalize the report. Standard Teams are also continuing to refine various parts of the self-evaluation report, she revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero served NMC in 2009 as its director of institutional effectiveness and accreditation liaison officer. In a statement, Deleon Guerrero assured his continued support and assistance to NMC in the completion of its self-evaluation report.<\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero will transition from his current work at NMC to Mount Carmel this summer, particularly in gearing up for the opening of the school on Aug. 9.<\/p>\n<p>By Moneth Deposa<br \/>\nReporter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Marianas College president Sharon Y.
