{"id":226899,"date":"2016-05-03T06:06:48","date_gmt":"2016-05-02T20:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=226899"},"modified":"2016-05-03T06:06:48","modified_gmt":"2016-05-02T20:06:48","slug":"aldan-recognized-excellence-state-mch-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/aldan-recognized-excellence-state-mch-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Aldan recognized for \u2018Excellence in State MCH Leadership\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The top official of the Division of Public Health Services of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. was the first to be awarded a state maternal and child health leadership award in the Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>DPH director Margarita Torres Aldan was recently recognized for \u201cExcellence in State MCH Leadership\u201d by the Association of Maternal and Child Health Program.<\/p>\n<p>The award is given to an outstanding state MCH professional whose career has made significant contributions to the health of women, children, and families in their state. <\/p>\n<p>It recognizes an outstanding state MCH professional whose career in MCH has made significant contributions to their state\u2019s MCH program, state maternal and child health outcomes, and made other significant contributions to promoting and protecting the health of women, children, and families in their state. <\/p>\n<p>It recognizes MCH leaders who inspires and brings people together to achieve sustainable results to improve the lives of the MCH population.<\/p>\n<p>Aldan received the award in recognition of her efforts in coordinating health care during the recovery period after the devastating impact of Typhoon Soudelor that struck Saipan on August last year. <\/p>\n<p>Aldan received the award at the AMCHP Conference in Washington, D.C. held earlier in April, and was recognized locally at the Women\u2019s Health Month kickoff celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to being the DPH director, Aldan served as the Maternal and Child Health Program coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>Aldan\u2019s colleagues said they are proud of her achievement and praised the good work she has done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Margarita.
