The Commonwealth Casino Commission has approved the minimum internal control standards for Saipan\u2019s exclusive casino licensee, Best Sunshine International, Ltd., and expects a transition to these within the coming month.<\/p>\n
The minimum internal control standards, or MICS, is the entire aspect of the burgeoning gaming industry\u2019s operations and provides the \u201cwhat-to-dos\u201d for security, surveillance, cashier, and slots operations, among many others, for example.<\/p>\n
The casino regulators adopted their MICS last April 5.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow that we adopted the Commonwealth\u2019s MICS. We gave them 60 days to comply with ours,\u201d commission executive director Edward C. Deleon Guerrero told Saipan Tribune last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have 60 days to comply with your MICS,\u201d he said, \u201cThey are free do a lot more but they cannot go lower than our minimum standards.\u201d<\/p>\n
Guerrero said the control standards detailed the \u201chour-to-hour\u201d and \u201cwhat to do\u201d in situations for security, for example.<\/p>\n
Prior to adoption and implementation of the MICS, the commission had adopted on an interim-basis the casino\u2019s standard operating procedures when regulators allowed them to open their \u201ctemporary\u201d casino in the T-Galleria last July.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
